Palace of Arts in Exhibition Park

Palace of Arts in Exhibition Park was filmed during a walk through Newcastle. It is one of those quiet, architectural anchors that often gets overlooked. Built in 1929 for the North East Coast Exhibition, it’s the last surviving building from that event, now housing the Wylam Brewery.

This short landscape shot captures the building in late afternoon light, framed by trees and the gentle activity of the park around it. It’s part of an ongoing series I film while walking through Newcastle and Gateshead, where I record 20–30 second moments that feel grounded in place.

I film clips of things like Palace of Arts in Exhibition Park using lightweight kit—usually my Osmo Pocket 3 or iPhone 15 Pro—and they’re shared on my dedicated Instagram account @newcastle_gateshead_landscapes. There’s no script, no plan—just small moments observed in passing.

Filming like this keeps me creatively engaged between commissioned projects and helps me document the shifting moods of the city I live and work in.
