Through A Glass Darkly – Documentary

Through a Glass Darkly is a collaboration between the National Glass Centre, University of Sunderland, the Arts and Humanities Research Council-funded Ordered Universe Research Project, and Durham University. The exhibition Illuminating Colour, which emerged from the collaboration was sponsored by the National Glass Centre and University of Sunderland, with additional support from the Art and Humanities Research Council and Durham University. Ordered Universe participant institutions included the University of Oxford, Georgetown University, Bishop Grosseteste University and the Università di Roma ‘Tor Vergata’.

Cate Watkinson and Colin Rennie, Senior Lecturers in Architectural Glass, and Glass, led the collaboration together with Giles Gasper, Reader in Medieval History at Durham University. Colleagues from a wide variety of disciplines, students and staff alike, from all of the participating institutions all contributed to the wonderful meeting of minds which inspired such wonderful creativity. Other artists associated with the Ordered Universe project also took part in this collaboration, Multi-media Sculptor Alexandra Carr, Projection Artist Ross Ashton and Photographer Rosie Reed Gold. We are extremely grateful to the National Glass Centre and Durham University Department of History and Palace Green Library for hosting the collaborative seminars, and film-maker Alan Fentiman for participant and chronicling the process of Through a Glass Darkly.
